Western Digital will promote its Media Center to consumers during Gitex Saudi Arabia. The company is working with its distribution partners in the Kingdom to promote its latest solutions to the consumer sector. With mobile digital equipment such as notebook computers, cameras, and PDAs becoming increasingly popular in Saudi Arabia, Western Digital has recognised the potential for providing a convenient additional storage appliance. Since the recent launch of the company’s Media Center, Western Digital has experienced strong demand for its newest hard-disk drive available in the market. Western Digital’s Media Center – which combines a 250 GB WD Caviar SE hard drive, and 8-in-1 memory card reader, USB 2.0 hub and the company’s exclusive Dual-option Backup feature in one convenient external storage device – is the only storage peripheral in Saudi Arabia that provides consumers all-in-one functionality. “The Media Center is popular with consumers in Saudi Arabia because it provides them with an easier way to download and store files from a variety of digital accessories. Since its launch in the market, the Media Center has attracted a lot of attention from people who use PDAs, notebooks or desktop PCs,” said Hafeez Khawaja, regional director emerging markets, Western Digital. “The new hard drive, the Media Center, is an easy-to-use storage solution that meets the needs of people who want to be able to store everything from music and videos, to photographs,” said Khawaja.
