Finnish security software vendor Stonesoft, fresh from opening its Middle East regional headquarters last month, has appointed Abu Dhabi-based systems integrator Bayanat Data Processing Systems (DPS) as a strategic channel partner. DPS has over 20 years experience in the Middle East serving vertical markets such as banking, telecoms, oil and gas, and high-end service sectors — prime targets for Stonesoft. DPS will implement Stonesoft’s combined firewall, virtual private network and intrusion detection system, for major enterprises in the region. As well as installing the StoneGate solution for clients, DPS will also provide sales support, training, and round the clock mission-critical backup. “Ensuring the security of their networks is now the top issue for IT decision-makers in the enterprise market. While all major organizations and government departments have systems in place, not all have adequate cover to protect their information systems from attack,” said Georges Hannouche, managing director, DPS. “Our experienced team of system integrators and engineers will add value to Stonesoft’s solutions. We look forward to developing our relationship and working together with enterprises in the Middle East to boost their security systems,” added Hannouche. “As IT networks become more complex, with multiple users in different locations, deploying an effective security system is vital to protect sensitive business information. The StoneGate solution is a protection package that is centrally managed, creating a better return on investment than other offerings,” said Theodore Kouyoumdjian, managing director, Stonesoft, Middle East. “DPS was a natural fit for Stonesoft’s ambitious Middle East expansion plans. They have considerable experience in delivering complex solutions to high-end users and we are looking forward to developing our relationship with them,” concluded Kouyoumdjian. Stonesoft has been in talks with numerous potential customers and partners since its regional launch. The company is poised to announce the deployment of its solution with a major public sector enterprise shortly. Given Stonesoft’s enterprise focus, expect more high-end channel partners with IT services capabilities to join its regional channel.
