Strong demand for IT infrastructure projects and professional services has been the backbone of Saudi Arabian systems integrator Jeraisy Communications and Computer Services’ (JCCS’) growth during the last year. JCCS — part of the much larger Jeraisy group — is using Gitex Saudi Arabia as a launch pad for new service offerings in the telecommunications, networks and infrastructure arenas, aiming to attract a strong pipeline of new customer prospects. “JCCS is focused on the enterprise account space and demand for infrastructure solutions and professional services is on the increase from this sector in Saudi Arabia,” explains Saeed Madhoun, marketing manager at JCCS. “Large accounts are investing more in IT solutions as they look towards greater automation. In the public sector, e-government initiatives are also driving growth. 1400-strong JCCS’ sales climbed 15% during the last year on the back of IT services demand. “JCCS targets the projects and accounts that require a solid proportion of professional services,” adds Madhoun. “Typically, this includes both infrastructure and support services as well as the deployment and operation of security software.” JCCS has deep relationships with major vendors including Sun, HP, Cisco, Oracle and Microsoft in Saudi Arabia and covers several market verticals including industrial, commercial, government and education. Despite the health of the Saudi IT services sector, the presence of several strong competitors, including SBM, MIS and Ebtikkar, has resulted in a degree of pricing pressure. “This is one of the reasons why we are going to focus on services and its higher margins,” says Madhoun. “Overall, the proportion of our sales from product resell is decreasing while the proportion from services is increasing.” Despite being split into five separate business units, JCCS encourages close co-operation between these different divisions to offer its customers a complete, end-to-end solution.
