Awalnet is talking up its latest services from its stands in the main Gitex exhibition and Shopper this week. While the focus at Shopper revolves around subscription packages, the ISP is homing in on its value added services for corporates in the main show. Among those services being promoted are Awalnet’s hosting capabilities, its payment gateway and tier two IP network. Also topping the agenda is the ISP’s latest security initiative, an online antivirus gateway based on McAfee software. According to Awalnet, local businesses that allow it to take responsibility for maintaining their antivirus solutions will benefit from more effective spam and virus protection. “The internet is full of wonderful things, but just like the offline world it can also be dangerous,” says Abdallah Aldubaikhi, Awalnet’s president. “That’s why Awalnet offers its users a package of features that can help protect them from the hazards of an always-on connection.”
