Mohammed Al Ghamdi, managing director, MATCO, leading system integrator, claims that “Some businesses in the Kingdom estimate that their data may double every six to nine months.” In response to this opportunity, EMC has announced a value-added reseller agreement with Maham Al-Khaleej Co. (MATCO) as a way to meet the growing demand in the Kingdom for integrated storage solutions, especially in the major enterprise sector. By entering the relationship, EMC now has the opportunity to delve further into the enterprise sector with the assistance of MATCO, an organisation that has extensive experience of working with major corporations in the Kingdom. Additionally, MATCO will now offer its customers a wide range of EMC’s hardware, software, and networking storage solutions. Jointly, EMC and MATCO plan to boost awareness across Saudi Arabia about the concept of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), the management of the changing value of data from its inception to disposal. ILM enables organisations in the Kingdom to significantly reduce the cost and complexity associated with managing growing amounts of information. “A number of larger enterprises in Saudi Arabia are currently reviewing their business objectives to estimate the amount of data that they will generate over the next few years, and how that information can be securely and cost-effectively managed,” said Allen Renno, general manager, MATCO. Comprehensive and cost-effective storage solutions are vital for companies in Saudi Arabia that are currently facing a host of information management challenges, ranging from simple back-up procedures that ensure information recovery in the event of unplanned downtime, and effective organization of e-mail, to full-scale business continuance strategies. “MATCO has more than five years of technology integration expertise in the Kingdom as well as robust ties to the business community there, giving EMC a further foothold in the burgeoning Saudi Arabia storage market,” said Mohammed Amin, general manager, EMC Middle East. “With this new relationship, we expect MATCO help EMC grow its business in Saudi Arabia’s enterprise and private sectors,” added Amin. Additionally, MATCO is investing in extensive training for its technical team on the entire EMC range of hardware, software, and networking solutions. The educational sessions, conducted by EMC, will ensure that MATCO staff members are capable of providing a superior standard of storage consultancy services.
