Turkish football club, Fenerbahce has installed a Quartz router system at the Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium football stadium for its new 24-hour-a-day TV Channel, FBTV (Fenerbahce Television). The new router system will access a pool of hi-tech broadcasting equipment, including a Pinnacle PD-6000i Vision Mixer, robotic cameras, Panasonic DVCPRO VTRs, an AV mixer and an XL server amongst other technology. The Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu stadium, which is rapidly becoming one of Europe's elite football arenas, recently upgraded its facilities with the addition of a high-tech TV facility. The club installed a Quartz SDI router and corresponding stereo audio router with various control panels through Quartz's Turkish distributor and systems integrator, Basari Elektronik AS. As, at least half of the broadcasting operations at FBTV are live, product reliability was a chief determining factor for the purchase of the Quartz solution, according to chief engineer Yekta Hercicek. "Quartz has built up a very good reputation in the Turkish market, having provided router systems to major Turkish broadcasters such as TRT and CNN Turk, so we had confidence in the company name," he said. "This proven reliability, coupled with the competitive pricing, was the main reason for choosing Quartz. The products are also flexible in terms of integration and serviceability."
