Emirates SkyCargo has transported five Harley-Davidson motorcycles from Moscow to Dubai in the belly-hold on an Airbus A330-200. The flight demonstrated the flexibility of EK’s A330s, which have optimised cargo capacity. “It was a pleasure to transport these legendary bikes in our A330-200, which has a vast belly-hold cargo capacity of 15 tonnes at full passenger loads,” comments Dmitry Salichev, Emirates’ Moscow cargo manager. “The cargo holds of Emirates’ fleet of 29 A330-200 aircraft, which operate our services between Moscow and Dubai, have been specially designed to maximise the amount of cargo that we can carry," he adds. The bikes were flown to Dubai for the recent Middle East Harley-Davidson Owners Group. Without the Emirates service, the bike owners would have been forced to charter an aircraft.
