Acer and Ferrari power ahead with F1 promotions

Acer Computers has announced it will hold a special corporate event at the forthcoming F1 Bahrain Grand Prix in addition to offering its channel partners race related incentives.

Acer Computers will hold a race day promotional event at the forthcoming F1 Bahrain Grand Prix in addition to offering its channel partners race related sales incentives. Acer, official technology supplier to Ferrari, will provide the team with notebooks, PCs, servers and monitors, and is planning further promotion via a special race day meeting for government leaders and business people in its Grand Prix hospitality area. "It is wonderful to have such a high profile sporting event being held in the Middle East and the Acer team is pleased to be able to demonstrate how effective and reliable our technology is," said Philip Ashkar, director of sales and marketing, Acer Computer Middle East. To tie in with Bahrain’s first ever F1 Grand Prix, Acer is also running a channel incentive program for its Middle East resellers. Resellers who meet the company’s product targets will win raffle tickets with ten partners then being randomly chosen to receive tickets to the final day of the F1 event in Bahrain. "By selecting a group of them to attend a sporting event of this magnitude, we are demonstrating how highly we value them as part of the team that is driving our success in the Middle East," said Ashkar. Acer and Ferrari previously promoted their partnership at last year’s Gitex event through the launch of the Acer Ferrari 3000 notebook, a device targeted at mobile business users and collectors of Ferrari memorabilia. The Bahrain Grand Prix is the first F1 race to be held in the county and takes place on April 4. Other sponsors include Siemens Mobile, official mobile phone supplier to the 2004 F1 season.
