Siemens Mobile launches Middle East F1 campaign

Mobile phone buyers across the Middle East will have the chance to win the ‘Siemens F1 Experience’ with flights, accommodation, tickets and other prizes up for grabs as part of the company’s new promotion.

Mobile phone buyers across the Middle East will have the chance to win the ‘Siemens F1 Experience’ with flights, accommodation, tickets and other prizes up for grabs as part of the company’s new promotion. Siemens Mobile, the official mobile phone of the formula one 2004 season, has launched a five-country promotion linked to its global sponsorship of the McLaren Mercedes F1 team. Consumers who purchase either of Siemens’ C60, C62, M55, SL55 and SX1 mobile phones in Kuwait, Pakistan, Jordan, UAE and Bahrain will have the chance to win flights, accommodation and tickets to see the first ever Bahrain Formula One race, which takes place on April 4th. According to Siemens Mobile, staff in major sales outlets across the five countries will also run a parallel F1 trade promotion that extends to 20 May to win gold coins worth nearly US $82,000. Outlets participating in the new promotion include Jumbo, Axiom, Fono (Jordan), U Fone (Pakistan), X-Press Cell (Kuwait), Shashi Gulf Trading (UAE) and Bin Hindi (Bahrain). Siemens recently won the contract to supply Bahrain’s International Circuit (BIC) with specialist electronics in a deal that the company estimates will be worth over US$13 million. “Siemens’ capability to implement exceedingly sophisticated solutions for the modern racing circuit was one of the main reasons it was chosen amongst other bidders for the BIC contract,” said Asim Sukhera, vice-president Siemens Mobile Phones Middle East and Africa.
