Gulf Air and Oman Air have expanded their cooperation by agreeing to codeshare on flights to three East Africa destinations. From the end of the month, Flights to Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar form Muscat, which were previously operated by both Gulf Air and Oman Air, will be operated by Oman Air on a codeshare basis. The codeshare deal also includes flights to Mombassa. “This is entirely in keeping with our network strategy,” says Fareed Al-Alawi, Gulf Air’s vice president, network. “Working with Oman Air we can leverage our partnership to extend the scope and reach of our network, to achieve a win-win situation.” The amended East African schedule is sychronised with Gulf Air’s recently launched daily Muscat-Heathrow service, which will facilitate connections to London. “We are working to minimise any potential impact on our customers in cooperation with our partners, and every assistance will be provided to ensure seamless travel with minimal disruption when the changes are implemented,” says Al-Alawi.
