Everex looking to add to PDA range

Everex Systems is planning to launch a number of PDAs this year featuring Bluetooth capabilities, it said this week. It is also expanding sales of its E500 PDA into the Levant region, following what it claims is a successful launch this year in the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia markets. “Everex’s commitment to meeting the needs of its customers is evident in the launch of the latest E500 Pocket PC based on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Phone Edition, which provides great experience for wireless connectivity, messaging and all the features consumers expect from a technology-leading PDA combined GSM/ GPRS with GPS options. Its price appeal coupled with rich functionalities empowers users to manage easily between their working and personal lives, “said Hassan Ashi, managing director for Everex Systems Middle East. “The company has been successful with appointing reputed distributors in the Middle East and Africa region and highly appreciates their efforts in generating continuous positive feedback on the device. We will continue focusing on the PDA market with future plans to introduce several versions of PDAs that will additionally incorporate Bluetooth capabilities.” The Everex E500 combines an integrated tri-band GSM phone and a digital camera and weighs in at just 165g. The company is further catering to the Arab region by incorporating an Arabization Operating System that can easily be installed providing specific customers with prayer times and call for prayer, Arabic/English electronic dictionary, an Arabic electronic keyboard, SMS capabilities in Arabic and Hijri calendar.
