Local assembler Direct Computer Systems (DCS) will start selling its products in South Africa through software developer IntraSolutions as part of a reciprocal distribution agreement. IntraSolutions — a start-up software developer focused on portal applications — will start building a channel for a select range of DCS hardware in South Africa. In return, DCS becomes IntraSolutions Software distribution partner for the whole of the Middle East and North Africa for its IntraBusiness application. “Despite being primarily a software vendor, IntraSolutions has strong experience in channel marketing,” says Sandro Quattrocchi, managing member in charge of marketing at IntraSolutions. “We will start with a limited range of products from DCS including laptops, micro PCs and its all-in-one model. We hope to build a retail channel for these products.” In exchange DCS will look to build a focused partner channel of VARs and integrators capable of selling IntraSolutions’ portal application into target verticals such as education and also help develop and Arabic language version. The application – aimed primarily at SMBs - includes human resources, document management and procurement functionality.
