Chyron has unveiled the latest version of its Arabic Lyric software at CabSat 2004, running on its Duet LEX and Solo Laptop CG systems. David Ward, general manager of Chyron EAME claimed that Arabic Lyric, an optional plug in to version 4 of Chyron's Lyric compositing tool, was developed for the Middle East region owing to requests from customers who already used Chyron's INFiNiT! series of Character Generators. "The Middle East is seeing a surge in major broadcast projects and Chyron is happy to lead the way, opening up greater opportunities to more and more Middle Eastern broadcasters," he added. The new version of Arabic Lyric uses the Windows interface to enable operators to function in a variety of languages and dialects. To switch between languages, the user simply has to select a different regional locale. Arabic Lyric includes real-time rendering, text effects, multiple rolls and crawls, advanced image effects, 3D object animations, cell animations, and multiple clocks and timers. All languages that require text to be formatted from right to left can be represented using this tool. Also demonstrated at the Chyron stand are its 1RU digital sketch-pad solution, the CODI-Strator, the laptop-based Solo and the Aprisa family of still and clip stores.
