LogicaCMG has been chosen to provide internet protocol (IP) messaging architecture to Asia Cell Telecommunications, one of the three service providers to be awarded a GSM licence in Iraq. LogicaCMG’s messaging infrastructure, which includes a state-of-the-art short messaging service centre (SMSC), will enable Asia Cell to offer high quality messaging services, starting with SMS, as it launches its GSM services. The architecture will also allow Asia Cell to share common management, provisioning and network interfaces across different service bearers to ensure optimum cost efficiency of its messaging infrastructure by maintaining low operational costs and capital expenditure.
