Dubai based ProNet Computer Systems, a provider of call management system — PhoneGuard has signed up with the German based I.T Security company Biodata as a distribution and business partner to market Biodata’s range of high security devices for encryption of communication lines including telephones, video-conferencing and fax devices. The memorandum was signed by Adnan Ghanem and Mohammed Abu Eyada, managing director of the respective companies, at the Middle East Call Centre Exhibition and seminar held in Dubai earlier this week. Babylon and the other products in Biodata’s suite address the security fears created by hackers and industrial spies who constantly threaten the integrity of complex I.T networks in small, medium and large enterprises. “In the context of multinational business processes, confidential information is being sent across open networks such as phone lines, unsafe data lines and the internet,” says N.Ramachandran, business development manager of ProNet. By translating data into secret code, encryption products secure the transmission of data packages through public communication wires, enabling engineers to securely link the internal infrastructure to other LANs or WANs without compromising corporate security policies. Babylon claims to be the only encryption platform with interchangeable interfaces-making the system compatible with all environments, such as ISDN, Frame Relay and X.25.
