Distree MEA, the new event designed to bring Middle East and African channel partners together with high profile vendors under one roof, has announced the attendance of Didier Trassaert, vice president of Maxtor. Trassaert will be joining the channel’s movers and shakers at the three-day event in February to offer his own perspective of the channel’s performance and to give an insight into Maxtor’s business. “The rewards of participating at the Distree are twofold; firstly it’s an ideal opportunity for Maxtor to network with IT channel leaders from all over the Middle East & Africa, and [also to] find out more about their specific needs and how best to meet those needs in their markets,” says Trassaert. Trassaert also plans to share with resellers, distributors and OEM’s the company’s storage technology advances, issues that are of mutual importance, forecasted IT trends and consumer demands in the MEA region as well as how they directly impact Maxtor’s current and upcoming product offerings. Trassaert is keen to make an impression on the channel partners at the event, which will include partners from the UAE, Saudi, Nigeria, and Kuwait. “The Channel are key to realising Maxtor’s success in the region, ensuring that our products are easily available to our customers, especially in more difficult to reach MEA markets which hold significant growth potential in the IT sector. Transfer of knowledge and developing an insight into the Channel’s specific needs is vital for this to happen.” he adds. Maxtor will also be conducting new technology briefings to both existing and potential partners in the region at the event, due to be held in Monte-Carlo on 2-5 February 2004.
