HP has announced the latest additions to its small and medium-sized business printer range bringing the HP Colour LaserJet 3500 and 3700 series printers into the market. HP claims that these models bring easy-to-use and reliable colour printing into SMB offices without sacrificing print quality or speed. “Vibrant colour brings life to virtually any printed page, especially in the highly competitive business world,” said Rob Wait, commercial marketing director, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “Companies looking for affordable ways to bring colour production into the office will find these new printers to be just what they need to help them stand out in the increasingly competitive market.” The HP Colour LaserJet 3500 uses automatic media type sensing and print mode adjustment and can print at 12 pages per minute (ppm) for both colour and black & white. It comes with a 4,000 page print cartridge. An external USB attached print server is available, enabling easy sharing between multiple users. The series also supports the HP Jetdirect wireless print server. The HP Colour LaserJet 3700 series is aimed at small- to medium-size workgroups and incorporates simple network management and configuration. The printer uses HP ImageREt 2400 technology to provide its output quality. The HP Colour LaserJet 3700 series prints at 16ppm and is capable of two-sided printing and can handle up to 850 sheets of paper input. HP’s instant-on fuser technology allows the first page to print quickly anytime. The 3700 uses a 6,000 page print cartridge for better handling large volume. The new HP Colour LaserJet printers complement the broad portfolio of innovative imaging and printing systems announced as part of HP’s Smart Office initiative for SMBs. Through Smart Office, HP is delivering products, services and solutions that make technology easy to own for SMBs. The printers are designed to tackle both internal documents and documents such as sales brochures. Both series support Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows environments and both are Apple Rendezvous compatible. The HP Colour LaserJet 3500 is available for around $799 and the HP Colour LaserJet 3700 costs $1,299.
