EPSON Middle East has recorded a 14% increase in sales during 2003, with gains of 73% in the UAE and 56% in Saudi Arabia. The gains were spread across the EPSON product range, with Inkjet printers registering the most significant increase of 58%, followed by scanners and video projectors, which recorded increases of 51% respectively. Sales of colour laser printers rose by 44%. “The marketing strategies launched by EPSON to strengthen its position in the region translated into strong sales in most key markets in 2003,” said Khalil El-Dalu, general manager, EPSON Middle East. “We witnessed remarkable sales growth across our entire product range in 2003, with main categories recording an average increase of 42%.” “EPSON has created technology that brings quality printing and imaging technology to the consumer at home and in the office. In addition, the growth of the Small Office Home Office (SOHO) segment has fuelled demand for our products and we expect further growth in 2004.” EPSON has introduced a number of new products over the last year including its DURABrite ink technology and Stylus Photo R300, a high-resolution photo printer that does not require a PC.
