Workers from contracting firm of J&P at a site just off the Flame Monument, next to the Dubai-Sharjah road and across from the Dubai International Airport complex. Work is going on as part of the airport’s expansion programme to build an air-bridge emerging from the Mega Cargo Terminal within the airport confines. The bridge will run overhead across the road and curve in to meet with the Dubai-Sharjah Road. Once completed the, over-bridge will provide direct access to Sharjah Road for cargo trucks from the Mega Cargo Terminal. Growth forecasts predict that soon additional major cargo handling facilities will be needed to satisfy demand. The first stage of the Cargo Mega Terminal has begun, which by the year 2018, will have the ability to handle 3 million tonnes of freight.
