A short list of bidders for a US $1 billion power and desdesalination project for Al Shuaibah in Saudi Arabia has been drawn up by government officials. Though details of just which contractors are on the shortlist are scarce, one of the companies bidding for the project as part of a consortium revealed to CW that the shortlist does now exist. Top officials of Malaysian firm Tenaga Nasional said the consortium to which it belongs, has been short listed for the KSA power and water desalination project. The bidders expect the results to be released by the Saudi Arabian project promoters at the end of the first quarter of this year.
