Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East has enhanced its internet presence with the launch of an online restaurant reservations service. Developed by Cyber Gear, the application allows diners to book tables, order pastries and cakes or browse recipes online. It also features detailed floor plans so users can select their preferred tables. “Our aim was to make restaurant reservations quick, easy and convenient in accordance with today’s busy lifestyles,” says Servee Palmans, area director, Six Sigma GCC & Pakistan, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “With this carefully-designed website, virtually anyone from the discerning business traveler to a housewife, can go through the entire booking process in just a few seconds,” he explains. By enhancing its online offering, Starwood Hotels believes it has not only improved its customer service levels, but also given itself a competitive advantage over other hotels than have not invested in a web presence. Sharad Agarwal, CEO of Cyber Gear, agrees. “We are confident that Starwood hotels will hugely benefit through the first mover advantage of launching this internet based restaurant reservation application,” he says.
