The Dubai Shopping Festival has today launched a Malayalam language web site in a bid to drum up support for its upcoming event. “The Malayalee community has always been an important patron of Dubai Shopping Festival,” said Dr. M.K Muneer, minister of public works, Kerala. “It is remarkable that Malayalam is only the third language, after English and Arabic, that has a dedicated web site and this showcases the fantastic relationship that Dubai shares with the people from Kerala.” “We are very glad that such an initiative has been taken to promote the Dubai Shopping Festival to this large global community,” said Saeed Al Nabouda, chief executive officer, Dubai Shopping Festival. “The people of UAE and the Indian community living here share a historic bond, and this is further strengthened each year by such ventures.” “This site aims to promote the shopping festival among the two million Malayalees residing in the Gulf and other parts of the world,” added Salah Abdusamad, senior Coordinator of the web site. “Even those who cannot participate in the Festival have the opportunity to win a host of prizes such as airline tickets, gift vouchers and much more.”
