National Bank of Dubai (NBD) is targeting the seriously rich with its latest 'Platinum' MasterCard credit card. Like Amex's highly sought after 'Black' card, a limited number will be issued, by invitation only.

"The NBD Platinum MasterCard will truly be exclusive," said Abdulfattah Sharaf, divisional Head, cards business, National Bank of Dubai. "It will only be offered to selected customers and will give them access to a range of special services throughout the UAE and internationally."

Card holder benefits will include round the clock emergency services (cash advances, lost and stolen card reporting and emergency card replacement); and personal services such as making reservations, access to healthcare and business services. Family members of a card holder will also be entitled to hold a Platinum card.

Sharaf said holders will also be issued with an NBD Webshopper Card, designed for secure online shopping, and emergency roadside auto assistance.
