Dubai International has been voted the world’s favourite airport by readers of Conde Nast Traveller in the UK. The magazine sent out a questionnaire to readers and also collected votes on its web site. The results were collected and analysed by an independent market research company, Market Management.

In the awards, Dubai International Airport polled the highest number of favourable votes in the overall airport category. It is also picked up the award for the best shopping and duty free facilities.

“We strive to provide nothing but the best for all our passengers and customers. This award is the recognition of all the hard work and effort put in by all our service providers and staff to provide excellent service to passengers. Since it is voted the best by readers, it makes this award more valuable for us,” says HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of the Emirates Group.

“When our second phase of expansion programme – which includes Terminal 3, Concourse 2 and 3 and a Mega Cargo terminal – is completed by 2006, it will ensure that we provide even better and higher standards of facilities and service,” he adds,
