DHL, the air express provider, has joined forces with Dubai police to ensure the speedy and safe delivery of essential materials for destinations in the emirate during Dubai 2003.

DHL vehicles can now be seen in many high profile parts of Dubai where other carriers cannot reach and at key junctions of the road network with Dubai police personnel at the wheel.

"This is the company's most visible support of the Dubai government to date and we were pleased to be of assistance. Members of the public have kindly been calling DHL to alert us to what they thought was an incident involving one of our vans only to find out that it was another example of how governments and private sector can successfully work together," said David Wild, DHL's general manager for the UAE.

The DHL vans will continue their high profile work for the next two weeks. So for people having trouble getting around Dubai at this present time, may we suggest the best travel advice we can possibly give you, would be to just post yourself there.
