BBC World has been appointed the official broadcast partner for the eighth international aerospace exhibition in Dubai. According to the agreement, a BBC World crew will be at Dubai 2003, which will run at the Airport Expo Dubai from December 7-11. The crew will cover the show for the channel's World Business Report programme.

"This will ensure that news of the Dubai air show will be screened eight times a day, reaching into 267 million homes worldwide and almost a million hotel rooms," says Clive Richardson, chief executive, Aerospace Division, Fairs and Exhibitions (F&E), which is organising Dubai 2003. "This deal with a major global broadcast partner of this calibre further enhances the already considerable credibility of the Dubai air show, and its importance to the international aerospace industry," he adds.

The deal also presents both parties with substantial marketing platforms. Dubai 2003 will benefit from BBC World advertising in print, at point-of-view stations and on the channel's website. BBC World will also be aired on large screen monitors both inside and outside Dubai 2003 and its World Business Report will be broadcast into the air show. "Our planned coverage of Dubai 2003 and our involvement in it reflects the BBC's commitment to global broadcasting and the Middle East," says John Williams, account manager, BBC World Ltd.

"Viewers who wish to keep informed about the show and the aerospace industry's impact on the Middle East can turn to BBC World for the story behind the headlines. We plan to keep viewers well informed with in-depth analysis and cutting-edge interviews."

The Dubai 2003 affiliated conference programme includes events focusing on defence, IT for the aerospace industry and aviation finance.
