Sky Electronics will be campaigning hard on a number of fronts at Gitex 2003.

Topping the UAE-based distributor's agenda, are plans to build and educate its reseller community on its collection of AMD processors, AOpen components, locally assembled systems and bare bone boxes.

"Our objective at the show is to bring all our partners together, explain our business model and how to deliver this in their home market," says Manoj Thacker, managing director, Sky Electronics.

Sky's stand in hall 2 will be split between AOpen components, which make up the core of its 'bare-bones' PC business, and the company's own Star Express and Expression range of locally assembled machines.

The company will also be promoting its pure components distribution business from the stand.

"We are showcasing Star Express [PCs] as a solution, which are based around MSI main boards and AMD processors," says Thacker.

"We're offering a full solution and that includes services, [such as] making sure the user has a warranty or even extending the warranty. A lot of companies are coming to us for our bare-bones systems, which are based entirely on AOpen products," he adds.
