HP's anti-counterfeiting campaign, which was launched against peddlers of fake printer cartridges at Gitex 2002, appears to be producing results. To help the crack down HP's imaging & print business has embarked on a vigorous campaign to educate large customers and channel partners.

"We're getting results from the hard work that we have put in with partners and customers," says Amr Hassin, general manager, imaging & printing group, HP Middle East.

"We're very satisfied with the results that we're generating. The third quarter results show an impact of the campaign, and there is good feedback from our partners in the region," he adds.

HP has been working alongside local authorities in different markets around the region to prosecute organisations found to be selling fake HP printer cartridges.
