Internet Security Systems (ISS) has unveiled its Proventia series of network protection appliances. Based on the vendor's RealSecure technology, the products provide accurate, comprehensive attack detection on multiple high speed network segments by checking each packet of information that enters an organisation's infrastructure.

Available in three different models - the Proventia A604, A1204 and A1204F - ISS' latest appliances also include security checks that identify both known and unknown attacks, thus closing the window of vulnerability to new threats. Attack prevention, via TCP resets, is capable of stopping threats before damage is done.

"Proventia appliances raise the bar by delivering a single point of advanced protection that simplifies the role of security for our customers and enables them to focus their valuable IT resources on more critical projects pertinent to their core business," says Greg Adams, vice president of product management for ISS.

"Proventia A Series appliances can be installed and activated in 15 minutes or less, now making intrusion protection convenient and affordable for a wider range of businesses," he adds.

The new appliances are a significant component of the security vendor's Dynamic Threat Protection enterprise security platform, which is designed to deliver maximum protection with minimal complexity. The Proventia A Series of products also works with ISS' RealSecure, Internet Scanner and SiteProtector offerings.
