A boom in the Middle East construction industry has prompted HP Middle East to launch BuilDog, an integrated, intelligent building management software package, at a facilities and maintenance management seminar in Dubai.

BuilDog integrates the independent systems of the building such as air conditioning, lifts, water supply, light management, energy management, access control, fire alarms, intrusion detection, computing and telecommunications, under one higher level of centralised management.

“The construction industry in the Middle East, and in particular Dubai, is enjoying a major boom,” says Karoly Kantor, sales manager for Intelligent Buildings Solutions, HP EMEA. “Many of these buildings are being developed using the latest intelligent building technology, which BuilDog enhances by expanding controlling systems capabilities to give further value and information, which is represented in the language of choice,” he adds.

The BuildDog software was developed by HP Hungary and ScadaSys. It allows for the composition of a precise inventory of assets located in various buildings and the assignment of operations costs to departments or tenants.

It can also evaluate and prioritise extraordinary building management events such as fire, inundation, unauthorised access or building technology system failures, enabling operators to identify and focus on the most urgent tasks.

The software supports the four basic sub-system groups of building management, security services, service management and facilities management, and two additional function groups of system management and an expert system.
