Gulf Air is launch twice-weekly services to Bangalore from both Bahrain and Muscat when its Winter schedule comes into effect on 26 October. The flights will be operated under a code-sharing arrangement with Indian Airlines whereby Indian Airlines will place its codes on the Gulf Air services.

Flights are scheduled to depart Bahrain every Monday and Thursday at 22:10, and arrive in Bangalore at 0600. The return flight will depart the Garden City on Tuesday and Friday as GF275 at 0700 to arrive in Bahrain at 1020.

Flights from Muscat will take off on Tuesdays and Fridays at 01:20, and arrive in Bangalore on the same day at 0600. The return flights will depart on the same days at 0700 to arrive in Muscat at 0900.

“We are delighted to be the first Gulf carrier to fly into Bangalore,” says Fareed Al Alawi, vice president, network at Gulf Air. “This endorses our commitment to extend the services we offer into the Subcontinent and to serve our customers more effectively with increased frequencies and more destinations.”

Bangalore is Gulf Air’s sixth Indian destination. The airline already operates daily flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Madras and Trivandrum.

“We are indebted to the Indian Government and the Civil Aviation Authorities for extending their support and co-operation to this venture,” says Alawi. “It offers new opportunities to consolidate and complement the historic ties and the strong relationship between Gulf Air’s owning states and India.”
