Gulf Air is to run extra services to the UK during the Christmas and New Year period. The airline's regular 24 weekly flights into London’s Heathrow Airport will be supplemented by 14 flights to Gatwick Airport. The service from Abu Dhabi and Bahrain will be operated using an Airbus A340.

“From past experience, we know that demand is heavy over this peak period,” says John Butler, Gulf Air’s vice president, marketing & Sales. “Families across the world want to be together to celebrate the season. The addition of extra flights will give our customers more flexibility when it comes to booking flights and will ensure that there are enough seats to cope with the heavier demand.”

The Abu Dhabi-Bahrain-Gatwick return service will run between the 11th and 22nd December, and then between the 2nd and 8th of January. “There are strong forward bookings for December and January, following on the trend established by our record performance in summer,” comments Butler. “People intending to fly over this period, would be well advised to book early to secure flights,” he adds.
