Oracle Corporation, today announced enhanced contingent worker and performance management capabilities for Oracle's Human Resources Management System (HRMS).

The new contingent worker features help Oracle HRMS customers better understand workforce performance and trends while strengthening corporate governance by effectively tracking, viewing and managing contract employees to meet local reporting regulations.

Additionally, the enterprise software company claims the expanded performance management tools empower employees by enabling them to personally supervise their professional development through online self-service portals. Other capabilities of the HRMS include advanced reporting and self-service management.,

"By listening closely to our customers and understanding the human resource challenges they face on a daily basis, Oracle continues to develop new capabilities that are helping them improve process efficiencies, reduce costs and make more informed business decisions," said Ayman Abouseif, Oracle's senior marketing director for Middle East and Africa.

"Oracle's new HR capabilities further enable our customers to manage all aspects of their workforces while making everyday HR processes easier to accomplish," he adds.

Oracle HRMS allows companies to store contract and permanent employee information in a common repository, providing an accurate view of the entire workforce, including full-time and part-time employees and contractors. By storing all workforce information in one application, companies can differentiate employees based on their hire status, better understand workforce trends and ensure local employment regulations enforced. Additionally, the HRMS now enables managers to collaborate more effectively with employees during performance reviews.

"Companies of all sizes have historically struggled to effectively administer the full contract worker employment cycle, from engagement to daily management to termination," said Jim Holincheck, research director at Gartner.

"In today's business climate of corporate governance and employee responsibility, it's critical that companies demonstrate full accountability for their entire workforce and can clearly state, at any time, the number of employees it has, what type of employees they are, and their role in the corporation," adds Holincheck.

Oracle HRMS is a component of Oracle's e-business Suite and targets all aspects of the workforce, including payroll, recruiting and hiring, benefits administration, training, and performance management.
