Gitex visitors will have the opportunity to see the future of video conferencing after digital electronics giant D-link announced that its new DVC-1000 VideoPhone is set to grace this year's event.

D-link, which will showcase the equipment in Hall 7, claim that the as the device stands alone, it will not require a computer to videoconference over the internet.

Additionally, as a way of wiping away those frustrating poor quality video calls, D-Link is adamant that its enhanced video compression technology will maximise the image quality and sound quality within the available bandwidth. The DVC-1000 is able to send and receive video broadcasts at around 30 frames per second.

D-link indicated that simplicity of the new product is also likely to attract consumer and small businesses. With just an Ethernet network cable connected to broadband internet connection required, consumers can begin to conduct real time videoconferencing with just a click of a button.
