Tejari and MRO Software announce user group event

Online B2B player and MRO launch 'Maximo Middle East User Group Conferences' for strategic asset management solutions and online procurement.

The Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) has announced Maximo Middle East user group conferences in Dubai from October 15 to 16, 2003. Common customers of MRO and Tejari would discuss issues, implementation of Maximo, which is MRO's flagship asset management solution.

"As strategic asset management is a key factor for Tejari.com in enabling cost-effective procurement, we are pleased to associate ourselves with this conference. We will use the event to share our experiences with participants and build stronger business relations with MRO", said Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, CEO of Tejari.

Sheikha Lubna will be among the leading speakers at the Maximo user group conference.

"The Maximo Middle East user group is pleased to welcome Tejari. This event is aimed at spotlighting how MRO solutions have given a new dimension to asset management and online procurement for companies like Tejari and Dubai port authority," said Jack Young executive vice president, products & technology MRO Software.

"Many customers in the Middle East are keen to adopt electronic trading to reduce costs, haphazard buying, reduce unnecessary inventory levels and develop relationships with key suppliers. This two-day conference will serve to indentify MRO's solutions to customers here," added Young.

Over 300 delegates from 70 organisations are expected for the conference.

MRO Middle East established in 1996, currently has over 10,000 users and 100 customers in the region and trades as eSolutions with over 50 employees. The company has estimated its regional revenues to be in the region of $8 million for 2003.

The company also announced that Maximo 5 has 138 live customers with an additional 750 ongoing implementations in the region. It expects to ship Maximo 6.0 in the summer of 2004.
