BEA to launch its new Weblogic Platform 8.1 at Gitex 2003

BEA, the application infrastructure company, has announced plans to launch the WebLogic Platform 8.1 for the Middle East market, during Gitex Dubai 2003.

BEA, the application infrastructure software company, has announced plans to launch the WebLogic Platform 8.1 for the Middle East market, during Gitex Dubai 2003. The new platform is targeted at developers to build service-oriented, enterprise-class web applications and web services. BEA plans to demonstrate how the new platform eliminates complexity from enterprise software and allows easy integration with existing systems.

Cathy Daum, vice president for EMEA Partners & Alliances, and Mr. Henry Manners, regional director for Middle East, South Africa, Greece and Turkey are scheduled to attend the launch.

"The Middle East IT market is on a high growth track, driven by several factors with businesses increasing their investments in web-based enterprise solutions," said Diyaa Zebian, regional manager, Middle East & Egypt, eSolutions BEA.

"Gitex Dubai offers a strategic platform to showcase BEA's industry-leading products and solutions before the right audience. We are looking at building new alliances, pursuing enhanced networking opportunities and exploring stronger relationships with locally based international IT companies," added Zebian.

Highlights at Gitex Dubai 2003, will include Dev2dev memberships designed to give developers access to the latest technologies, product support and technical information for enterprise applications. Visitors can also interact with BEA's first international user-group for the Middle East Java community. This year's stand will focus on WebLogic 8.1 product range and local support capabilities
