NEC Computer International (NEC CI) is set to launch a new range of notebooks this week. The company claims the computers are "groundbreaking" in terms of design.

"Packard Bell designers and engineers worked to develop models that addressed the needs of existing and emerging user profiles," says Michael De Bievre, an executive director of the company's international division.

This is the first time that NEC CI is participating in Gitex in a standalone capacity, reflecting its reinforced commitment to the region.

"Significant expansion plans include a major deal with a UAE retailer for the consumer product range," explains Lenia Iacovides, managing director of interFRONTIERS, a regional unit of NEC CI.

"We are also stepping up efforts in the corporate market with a series of tailor-made events targeting the banking and government sectors." NEC CI arrives at Gitex following events in Turkey and Saudi Arabia to showcase key NEC corporate market products. Q4-1
