ABN Amro is appealing to international jetsetters with the introduction of its Smart Traveller Credit Card. Regional cardholders have traditionally carried out the bulk of their credit card spending when travelling and this card rewards them for doing so.

Perks with the card include free companion tickets, a complimentary international airport lounge access pass and travel & emergency medical insurance. Partner companies offering card points and discounts include Thai Airways, Alitalia, Accor Group, Shangri-La and Hertz.

"ABN Amro is aggressively growing its consumer franchise in key regional markets, including the UAE," says Romesh Sobti, head of ABN Amro's strategic value business, Asia & Middle East.

"We will tailor our product suite to meet local preferences across the region while simultaneously providing our customers [with] benefits [that] only a global bank can."
