Storage Software vendor, Veritas is breaking with its previous Gitex policy and exhibiting in the DIC pavilion. The vendor has had its own double-decker stand for the last two years, but this time it has decided to partner with the IT Free Zone after the success of its recent Visions conference in Dubai.

"Gitex this year is less relevant, in that there isn't a specialist storage section, which I think there should be," comments Mike Hynes, regional director, Veritas Middle East. "We feel that the state of the market... means that a specialist storage event is needed, so we staged our own event in June," adds Hynes.

"However, Gitex is still an important IT event, and we did want to have a presence... [so] we thought it would be great to support DIC and also to have a reduced presence to reflect the generalist nature of Gitex." DICC
