Gitex visitors will have the opportunity to see the future of videoconferencing after D-link announced that its new DVC-1000 VideoPhone is set to grace this year's event. The vendor claims that as the device is a stand alone product it doesn't require a computer to allow users to videoconference over the internet.

Additionally, as a way of wiping away those frustrating poor quality video calls, D-Link is adamant that its enhanced video compression technology will maximise the image and sound quality within the available bandwidth.
