Cisco Systems is serving up a number of treats for visitors to its hall 7 stand. Small-to-medium enterprises (SME), for example, are being invited to 'break free' courtesy of the vendor's specially designed wireless package.

The 'SME Break Free Pack' is delivered jointly by Cisco and its partner, Tech Data, and incorporates Cisco Aironet wireless products, access and security solution guides and an exclusive discount on antivirus software.

"Break Free is a mobility message, but it is much more than a wireless access point or a wireless card, it is about a complete mobility story," says Tim Scott, regional sales manager for commercial markets, GCC, Cisco Systems.

"[Furthermore,] the majority of Gitex delegates fall within the SME category, so we are focusing efforts this year on targeting this important and growing market. The Cisco SME-Accelerator Bundle has been developed to enable these companies to strengthen their position within the local market," he adds.

Representatives from both Cisco and Tech Data are on stand to help with any customer enquiries and provide strategic advice surrounding the solution.

"Tech Data has an in-depth channel expertise in wireless mobility devices, and through our ongoing partnership with Cisco, we continue to drive the regional market as businesses adapt to the need for mobile access, public wireless hotspots and beyond," says Dorian Breakspear-Coyle, Cisco business unit manager at Tech Data.

"The Cisco SME-Break Free Pack and Accelerator Bundles are perfect examples of an all-in-one secure wireless and access package that fulfils an increasing regional demand for high speed mobility solutions. We expect a great response from the channel and from end users alike across the Middle East," he adds.

Cisco is also demonstrating its Mobile Office solution, which is designed to improve the productivity of SMEs and their increasingly mobile workforces. According to the vendor, the solution can increase the productivity of an employee by up to an hour each day.

"For a SME, the most expensive asset is its staff. A manager can only ensure employees perform at maximum efficiency through strategic deployment of mobility technologies such as wireless and IP telephony," explains Scott.

Cisco is also highlighting its IP telephony range and, more specifically, emphasising the productivity and total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits that these solutions can provide.
