Dubai Internet City (DIC) has launched a hosted messaging and collaboration (HMC) service for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs). Those companies that sign up for the service will be able to access a host of Microsoft technologies to help them operate in the knowledge economy while also reliving themselves of having to implement and manage such solutions inhouse.

"DIC is focused on delivering solutions and services that help the business community in Dubai," says Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, CEO of DIC. "Because the SMB sector often has limited resources compared to large organisations, we have deployed Microsoft's technologies to create a superior HMC solution that will help this sector focus on its core business," he explains.

Unveiled on day one of Gitex, the solution has been built on a multitude of Microsoft products. Subscribers to the service get access to the full Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 suite and its wide range of capabilities.
