EHDF signs disaster recovery deal with AEME

American Express Middle East (AEME) has signed up with eHosting DataFort (EHDF) for a complete disaster recovery solution. Under the terms of the deal, EHDF design, install and then manage the solution.

American Express Middle East (AEME) has signed up with eHosting DataFort (EHDF) for a complete disaster recovery solution. Under the terms of the deal, the Dubai-based hosting company will design, install and then manage the solution, which boasts fully redundant power, security and connectivity.

The offering also includes advanced features like disaster recovery seats, which can be used by American Express Middle East staff should anything happen to the credit card company's primary facility.

"We were looking for a site that could host all of our data in case of an emergency and eHosting DataFort has provided us with exactly what we need to ensure the continuity of our business. Furthermore, the solution matches our strict international guidelines so we were confident in hosting our data locally," says Rasool Hujair, regional director for Gulf Countries at American Express.

"This agreement [with EHDF] helps us ensure that our customers will have continuous access to their accounts in a secure manner, even in the event of a disaster," adds Trevor Stokes, president & chief executive officer for American Express Middle East.

The signing of American Express Middle East is a big step forward for the EHDF team. Having a brand name such as American Express on board will help the company as it looks to grow its business in the region.

According to Sameer Sadeh, EDHF's chief execuitive officer, the company is proud to be working with AEME and will use the customer win to extend its customer base within the region's financial services sector. "Businesses like American Express, which are heavily dependent on IT systems, always need a backup in case of unforeseen interruptions or disasters to ensure their continuous level of service. EHDF can help address these needs," he says.
