Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced the launch of a new convertible Tablet PC that will be available in the Middle East region from November this year.

The LIFEBOOK T3010 will be equipped with a 1.40 GHz Intel Pentium M processor and among the new features will boast an integrated smart card reader function in the PC Card controller of the T3010. Combined with a built-in security panel, which requires a user PIN number to start the notebook, the smart card reader functionality is designed to allay fears about security from notebook users.

"With the launch of the T3010, FSC is now the only vendor in the market who can offer the complete Tablet PC portfolio that includes the conventional slates in the Stylistic range, as well as the new convertible notebook," said Susanne Lewitzki, product marketing manager, Middle East and North Africa, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

The T3010 can be used as a normal ultra portable notebook. However, with a simple flip over, the screen fits neatly atop the keyboard and converts the T3010 into a Tablet PC. The Tablet PC form factor allows you to create handwritten notes and drawings, in addition to annotating documents, directly on the screen.
