Jordanian software provider, Eskadenia, has secured a deal to supply its content management system (CMS) to Abu Dhabi's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI).

Once it is implemented in January 2004, ADCCI will use the solution to manage its website more efficiently and enable it to act as a more effective promotional tool.

The new site will act as an intranet and external site and contain information about the body's employees and campaigns, as well as added features such as emailing lists.

Also, in parallel with the implementation, Eskadenia designers will be restructuring and redesigning the current ADCCI site, to give it a fresh and more professional look.

"[The ADCCI] is replacing the existing website with a similar site with more powerful tools," says Nael Salah, general manager at Eskadenia.

The CMS software, which was launched by Eskadenia at this year's Gitex, is being pitched by the vendor as a solution allowing greater control over the interface of companies' websites and the display of content.

A rich theme library is available along with CMS including ready-made designs, styles and templates that allow editors to change sites look and feel.

Users access the system through a browser-based interface, while Eskadenia claims it is capable of handling the amount of content and users demanded by ADCCI.

Additionally, CMS provides portal statistics and visitor analysis allowing the administrator to track, control, and view history of all actions performed on-site, as well as a search engine that provides intelligent relevance ranking, Boolean searching, unique indexing, categorisation and proximity search ability.

To help make sites more dynamic, SMS, chat and online payment features are also bundled with the software.

"The ADCCI project is the result of a specific focus on the Gulf market by our dedicated marketing and sales team at Eskadenia's offices in the UAE," says Salah.

"We are putting tremendous efforts in place to furnish the UAE market with strategic software solutions and services from our offices in Abu Dhabi," he adds. H8-1
