Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) is predicting double-digit growth for its Centrino models over the next two years, as the company looks to increase its presence in the Middle East.

The prediction came from Barbara Schaedler, FSC's vice president of marketing and communications. "Mobility is the biggest area of growth and we offer a complete range," she added.

Reflecting on the impact of Centrino, Schaedler insisted that its hype was vindicated as the product has genuinely changed lifestyles. She cited an earlier meeting with FSC's Saudi re-sellers, who revealed a sales ratio of 80% notebooks to 20% desktops sold. "The Middle East market is so dynamic, it is not always easy to handle, but we have a good sales and marketing team and it is our intention to work harder on sales."

Schaedler also revealed that FSC's Pocket Loox 6120, which has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, would be released in the Middle East in December.
