Gitex 2003 is the swansong for JD Edwards in the Middle East. After the show ends, the company will be integrated into PeopleSoft and the JD Edwards brand phased out.

The enterprise software provider was bought by PeopleSoft, the world's second largest provider of enterprise application software, in July this year. The integration of the two companies' product sets is already underway.

This week has been all about introducing customers to the benefits of combining the two companies, reassuring them that the process will be smooth and outlining the product integration roadmap.

"[Gitex is] a great opportunity to introduce visitors to the benefits that the combined PeopleSoft / JD Edwards brand will offer them. We are showcasing the applications that have come out of the integration work between PeopleSoft and JD Edwards as well as new product lines at Gitex this year," said Fady Sfeir, Middle East managing director for PeopleSoft.
