Samir Digital Technology, the regional mass distributors for Kodak digital and applied imaging products, is showcasing a wide range of new electronic goods at today's Gitex.

In the Kodak line-up is the new DX6490, the first digital camera from the film and camera manufacturer to offer a built-in x10 optical zoom lens.

It also boasts a large 2.2" LCD and four megapixel output.

It is complemented by the new 6000 series printer dock, combining Kodak's proprietary camera cradle (that recharges the camera while downloading and transmitting images simultaneously) with a 6x4" inkjet photo printer.

Simply by placing the camera onto the printer dock and pressing a button, your pictures will be downloaded and printed automatically as standard-size prints.

While Samir Digital Technology has become synonymous with Kodak digital imaging products in the UAE and other regional countries, the company is also showcasing a wide range of other branded products at today's Gitex.

They include a new 3.3 megapixel underwater digital camera from Sealife.

The DC300 features land and sea exposure modes, one-button operation, a 1.6" colour LCD and 8MB onboard memory plus a Secure Digital flash card slot. It can be used up to a depth of 200 feet.

Abdul Rahman, regional manager, Samir Digital Technology, says that the company has also been approached in the last week by Imacon to distribute its products.

He also points to the Primera line of CD duplicating and printing products.

"We have been doing great business this week with our Primera products," he says.

"Their products are consistently scoring five out of five in independent reviews and they are attracting interest from country distributors and end users alike at Gitex."

Primera products include the new Composer XL for the mass duplication of CDs and DVDs, and a large range of printers for the creation of unique CD labelling and artwork.
