Canon Middle East has unveiled its 'multifunction embedded application platform' (MEAP) at Gitex.

It is a new approach to customisable office systems based on open Java standards.

The launch of MEAP sees Canon strengthen its role as an IT innovator by transforming printer-copiers into dynamic central hubs for office automation.

By introducing Java technology into these devices, endless opportunities are created for embedding custom applications to suit individual company workflows.
