Two new PC audio releases from Creative are set to shake up the digital audio industry. The Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS is Creative's latest external sound card and the Inspire T7700 is a 7.1 speaker system.

The SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS, which costs $230, is an external sound card that features five stereo inputs, six stereo outputs and two FireWire ports. External sound cards are aimed at notebook users who are looking for quality audio output but don't want to weigh or slow down their machines. The card also supports the simultaneous recording of six channels of high quality 24-bit audio.

The Creative Inspire T7700 costs $150 and the company says that it is capable of creating realistic 7.1 sound even when used in conjunction with 5.1 or 6.1 sound cards. Insiders also claim that it is the only speaker system in its class to use a tweeter to improve high frequency sounds. The tweeter and mid range driver in the system's three front speakers work in harmony to create a tonal balance between highs and mids, ensuring accurate, crystal clear audio quality. The side satellite speakers offer smoother pans and accuracy from the latest EAX or DirectSound 3D games.
